Who we are

THE BAPTIST CHRONICLE

“Highlighting God’s work in the lives of His people”

Dear brothers and sisters, when you open a newspaper or check the media today, do you feel that the voice of God is present? That truth is being upheld? That hope is being shared?

The Baptist Chronicle is born out of a deep spiritual concern and a call to act—not just a business idea.

We are a Burundi based leading media that systematically documents and shares important news, stories, and resources related to the Baptist community in Burundi and all christians in Africa.

Our motto is : “Highlighting God’s work in the lives of His people

We are the platform dedicated to informing, inspiring, and equipping the Baptist community in Africa and beyond with faith-centered news, teachings, and testimonies. Our purpose is to be a reliable voice for African christians, rooted in biblical truth, promoting spiritual growth, justice, and gospel-centered transformation in society.

The Baptist Chronicle also aims to highlight how God is at work in the lives of His people—through testimonies of faith, success stories of Christians emerging in business, technology, science, and development, and practical examples of kingdom impact in society.

Readers can expect well-researched articles, devotionals, interviews, church updates, and reflections on culture—all to support the growth of God’s people in every sphere of life.

VISION

“Without vision, the people perish” – Prov. 29:18  and a Christian enterprise without a divine vision is just another human project.”

At the Baptist Chronicle, our vision is “To be a leading voice in Africa reflecting biblical truths, hope, and the holistic transformation of the Body of Christ.”

WHY THIS VISION ?

  1. Leading Voice:  We position ourselves as a committed Christian media outlet, faithful to biblical truth, to “proclaim” with authority what God is doing—like a herald (or a roaring lion).  We aim to be clearly heard, providing relevant answers to today’s realities.
  1. Biblical Truths:  The world perishes for lack of knowledge of the Word of God (cf. Hosea 4:6).  We aim to restore biblical knowledge to teach, correct, edify, and equip the Church.
  1. Hope:  Youth today are disoriented, hopeless, and influenced by ideologies contrary to the Word.  We want to remind them of God’s perfect plan for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11), to rekindle their faith, identity, and purpose.
  1. Holistic Transformation:  The Body of Christ must grow spiritually, but also in its way of living, thinking, serving, and impacting the world.  Our media aims for complete transformation — spiritual, personal, social, and economic — for a strong and radiant Church.

“And what if, in 10 years, The Baptist Chronicle become the media outlet people turn to for a Christian perspective on current events?”

OUR CORE COMMITMENTS

Our core commitments are :

  • Highlighting God’s work in the lives of His people ;
  • Delivering historical Baptist principles;
  • Promoting responsible journalism

OUR VALUES

We celebrate our V.I.S.I.O.N. — the values that shape who we are and what we stand for at The Baptist Chronicle. Each letter reflects a deep conviction and commitment that guides our work and witness. The word V.I.S.I.O.N is written in capital letters with dots between each letter to distinguish it from the general word vision.

Wherever we serve or display our message—on walls, flyers, or platforms—V.I.S.I.O.N is more than a slogan; it’s our identity, our standard, and our spiritual foundation.

This format reminds us that each letter stands for a core value we live by:

V Verity (Truth based on God’s Word)

John 17:17 – “Your word is truth.”

God’s Word is our lens to interpret facts. As a media house, we don’t just report facts — we filter all content through biblical truth, helping the audience discern what aligns with God’s Word in a world filled with misinformation.

I Integrity (No compromise in ethics or message:)

Proverbs 10:9 – “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.”

No compromise with money, politics, or worldly influences. We commit to ethical journalism — no corruption, clickbait, or manipulation. Our credibility and trust come from unwavering integrity, no matter the topic or pressure.

S Servanthood (Committed to serving the Body of Christ:)

Mark 10:45 – “The Son of Man came to serve.”

We are accountable to God, our partners, and our audience. We serve the Church, society, and future generations. Our media exists not for fame or profit, but to serve churches, leaders, youth, and families by offering content that builds, informs, and encourages the Body of Christ.

I Inspiration (Bringing hope and motivation to grow in faith:)

Hebrews 10:24-25 – “…stir each other up…encouraging each other….”

We believe information can be a channel for spiritual revival. That’s the reason why we use stories, devotionals, testimonies, and reports to inspire hope, especially in challenging times. Our content motivates believers to live out their faith daily.

O Obedience (Faithful to God’s calling and Word)

1 Samuel 15:22 – “To obey is better than sacrifice.”

→ In everything we produce — whether it’s reporting, commentary, or a campaign — we are not driven by trends but by obedience to God’s purpose for this media ministry.

N Nobility (Excellence in purpose, quality, and character)

Philippians 4:8 – “Whatever is noble… think about such things.”

Nothing mediocre for the Kingdom. We strive for professional journalism, excellence in every article, video, or podcast. The content must be honorable, uplifting, and worthy of representing Christ and His Church.

Our  Vision, mission, and values are not just words. They are spiritual foundations. And if God is calling you to invest in it, it’s because He wants to involve you in a work that has eternal impact.

LOGO

Our logo was designed to reflect our identity, our mission, and our foundation in biblical values:

Symbol – The Quill: The quill represents the chronicle, writing, and memory. It reflects our calling to document and transmit God’s Word, to tell of His works in our generation with faithfulness and inspiration. It also symbolizes wisdom, intellect, and the power of written truth.

– Font – Classic and Modern Serif: The chosen typography combines the elegance of serif fonts—which evoke tradition, stability, and credibility—with a modern touch, showing that we are forward-looking, with a professional, clear, and accessible tone.

– Color Palette – Gold or Deep Blue: Gold symbolizes spiritual richness, the eternal value of biblical truth, and divine light. Deep blue expresses faith, wisdom, depth, and spiritual authority.

These colors reflect our seriousness, dignity, and commitment to building a media platform grounded in faith.
