“But the angel reassured them. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke 2:10
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we remember the conditions in which He came into the world — a time marked by distress, political tension, displacement, and both religious and political oppression.
Yet in the midst of that darkness, the people of God held onto the hope of a coming Messiah, as foretold by the prophets.
At The Baptist Chronicle, we recognize the vital role that messengers played in spreading the good news of Emmanuel’s birth. We also honor the angels who appeared to the shepherds, announcing the arrival of the Great Shepherd — Jesus Christ. These moments remind us of the power of information — not just any information, but hope-filled, truth-grounded news of what God is doing among His people.
This reflection strengthens our commitment to our core mission: to document God’s work among His people, proclaim His truth with boldness, and promote hope and integrity in a world increasingly clouded by misinformation and spiritual confusion.
May this Christmas renew our purpose and yours — to be faithful witnesses and proclaimers of the good news.
Merry Christmas and may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts.
