Nigerian Baptist Youths Call for Action on Security and Youth Empowerment

The Nigeria Baptist Convention Youth Conference (NBCYC) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to implement more youth-friendly policies and programmes that will enable young people to reach their full potential while ensuring the safety and welfare of all Nigerians.

The National President of the NBCYC, Ambassador Amos Barnabas Kadanga, appealed during his address at the 52nd Annual Session of the Conference held at Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State.

Kadanga observed that despite the numerous challenges confronting the country, Nigeria has continued to endure by the grace of God. He commended Nigerians for their resilience and encouraged citizens to continue contributing positively to national development.

“We continue to pray for peace and stability,” he said, stressing that governments at all levels must place greater priority on protecting lives and improving the welfare of citizens.

The NBCYC President emphasized that meaningful investment in young people remains one of the surest paths to sustainable national development. According to him, deliberate youth-focused policies will create opportunities for innovation, productivity, and economic growth while empowering young Nigerians to become responsible leaders in their communities.

Kadanga maintained that Nigeria’s large youth population should be regarded as a national asset rather than a burden. He urged policymakers to create an enabling environment through quality education, skills development, entrepreneurship support, and expanded employment opportunities.

He reiterated the Conference’s commitment to raising a generation of young people who will make positive contributions to the Church, the nation, and the global community. He also called on government, faith-based organisations, the private sector, and other stakeholders to work together in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Nigeria.
